Therefore, no matter how good a blog you write, and how interesting headings, content, and paragraphs you use, it will amount to nothing unless it’s optimized on the search engine.  Because without SEO, your blog will likely appear on the 8th or 9th page in the google search. This will be an absolute nightmare for a blogger. To make your blog click and reach a larger audience, you have to write SEO compliant blogs. And if your blog makes it to the first page in google search, the traffic to your site will increase proportionately.

To increase the traffic to your site isn’t a child’s play. It needs an SEO professional to do the job. If you are a blogger, you must have realised the benefits of getting more traffic. So if you haven’t got great traffic to your blog, you shouldn’t worry. Let’s discuss how to write SEO friendly blog posts.

What is SEO?

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. Therefore, if you are writing an SEO friendly blog, it means you are indirectly telling Google about the topic your blog is written about. By doing this, you are actually optimizing the content for the search engine. This brings multiple advantages in terms of visibility of your blog, and increase in traffic to your site. As more people begin searching for your blog on Google, it will eventually appear on the first page. And subsequently, more visitors will come and would help improve the ranking of your site. This will also give you a clue as to what people usually like, so that you can create similar content on your website to attract Google users. Most importantly, your income will also grow.

1. Keyword Research

The most important factor in writing an SEO compliant blog is the use of  keywords. And searching the right keyword is no longer a big deal. In layman’s language, the phrase and sentences you use for searching on Google is your keyword. For example, people search in google “how to earn money from facebook? or “how to increase your followers on Instagram?”, or “how to search for a guaranteed match on Connected app?”.

This is your keyword. Now you may think which keyword would be more appropriate.Don’t worry, there are multiple tools on Google that will guide you to select your keywords. One such tool is “Google Keyword Planner.” You should ideally choose a keyword where competition is relatively low,  because you can rank such keywords on Google faster than any other.

However, you can also choose your own keywords after checking its efficacy on Google Keyword Planner. It’s better if you opt for the long tail keywords, because such keywords can also accommodate short tail keywords. The difference between a long and a short tail keyword will become more apparent with the following example. If “Who are the top five batsmen of all time?” is your long tail keyword, try using “top five batsmen” in your blog. Now, this is your short tail keyword. Therefore, once your long tail keyword begins performing well on Google, the short tail keyword will also follow.

2. Put your keyword in the title

Depending on the topic of your blog,  you need to choose an appropriate title. And nothing is better if you could include the keyword in the title of your blog. Never choose a keyword such as “How to write a Seo Friendly blog post ?” when your topic of blog is entirely different. Try to place the subject of your blog as a keyword in the title itself.

3. Try to use Keyword in your first paragraph

Ideally, if you can’t adjust the keyword in the title of your blog, the next best option is to use it in the first paragraph itself. This acts like a booster to your SEO. For example, if you are writing a blog with a title “How to improve your fitness?”, then try to use it as your keyword, and make sure that the keyword “How to improve your fitness?” is included in the first paragraph itself. However, your keyword should be used in a natural way. Do not use keywords deliberately for the sake of it because it goes against the guidelines of Google. This is called keyword stuffing and you may be penalised for that.

4. Take Help From Image Alt Tag

Search engine doesn’t acknowledge the image. Actually, you need to tell the search engine that you are using an image that is related to your blog. You should enter the name of the image in the Alt tag. For example, if your image is related to digital marketing, then you should mention “digital marketing” in the alt tag. This will allow search engines to understand what the image is about. Place your keywords along with alt tags, and that will further optimize your article. There are also useful plugins available such as Seo Friendly Image.  And when you are using an image, try to reduce the page loading time. So, whenever anyone does a google image search, your image will also appear.

5. Use Heading and Subheading

Using heading and subheading is also part of SEO. Always keep in mind that headings let visitors know what is actually written in a blog or article. Besides, once you use heading and subheading in your blog, you also know which keyword you need to use in the subheadings. You should avoid repeating the same keyword, change it a little and then use it. For example, if your topic of blog is “how to write a film review ?”, instead of using the original sentence, you should write “how to write a good film review ?”. You can also use this keyword in the subheadings.
